Can the oven be placed next to the refrigerator, and the dryer above the washing machine?

There is a lot of advice on the use of home appliances, such as which washing programs to choose for your washing machine, or what the optimum temperature should be in the refrigerator and how food should be placed in it. But where is the best place to put home appliances in general? Can you put a dryer on top of a washing machine? Can the oven stand next to the refrigerator?

Dryer on the washing machine

In general – yes, it can be done. However, you need to take into account some points. First, the dryer can not be placed simply on the washing machine. Between the two devices, there must be a separate shelf or some intermediate link. For example, in order to install Samsung washers and dryers on top of each other, you can buy a special mount. If you just put the dryer on top of the washer, the top unit may stand unstable, and this is unsafe.

In addition, you also need to consider the size of the devices. If the dimensions of the dryer are larger than the dimensions of the washing machine, you can’t put it on top. Therefore, it is necessary to check in advance whether the devices are suitable for such installation. If the necessary preparatory work is done, then, putting the dryer on the washing machine, you can free up space in the laundry room.

Separate laundry room

A separate space from the kitchen should be provided for the washer and dryer in the house. This does not mean that the washing machine should stand alone in a separate room, but it is advisable that it is not located in the kitchen, as is the case in some homes. This way you can do different chores separately, and you won’t have a situation where you are doing laundry and cooking at the same time.

In addition, the washer and dryer should be installed as far away from the bedroom as possible, so that the sounds of their work will not disturb your sleep if you plan to do laundry, for example, at night.

Oven next to the refrigerator

As for kitchen equipment, you should not put the oven in proximity to the refrigerator. Even though modern ovens are well insulated, they still generate heat, which means that the refrigerator will have to work harder and use more energy. If possible, place some drawers or a work surface between the oven and the refrigerator.

Use of work surfaces

If you take a broader view of the kitchen, ideally there would be a work surface between the oven and the fridge that can be used for cooking. This makes it convenient to take food out of the fridge, then cut or otherwise prepare it for frying or baking, and then place it in a pan or in the oven.

It is also a good idea to review and prioritize all the kitchen appliances on your work surface. It is better to put devices that you use once a week or a month in a cupboard or on a shelf, so that they do not occupy the work surface aimlessly. Likewise, it is always easy to retrieve them when needed.
