The American company Viking Range Corporation was founded in 1984 by a famous architect Fred Carl, who was designing elite housing and continuously faced customer demands for professional kitchen equipment able to cater any need. Restaurant ranges are not allowed to be installed in residential houses by the US fire safety regulations as they cannot be located close to wooden furniture due to poor heat insulation.
Simply put, an American family had to get durable restaurant-level equipment that would have all the functionality of professional appliances. This was achieved by analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of competitor equipment and proprietary developments, as well as implementing the best designing solutions and top-quality materials.
To solve this task, Fred Carl designed and certified the ranges for domestic use that complied with all necessary safety requirements and had the highest possible quality. The idea was a pure success and allowed the professional home appliances manufactured by Viking to hold a tight grip on the American market over the last 25 years and gain a reputation as a pioneer and influencer in the ultra-premium range of home appliances.
In 2006, Viking became the second top brand in America based on the research of a prestigious Fortune Magazine. High-end professional quality appliances and huge sales were only a part of the success, while the other part was contributed by the introduction of the Viking lifestyle — the company established America-wide cookery schools, special periodicals for interior designers, interest clubs for travelling, wine tasting, and golf tournaments.
Nowadays, the Viking company is an award-winner for numerous innovations and design solutions, and you can see a Viking logo in the White House and Madonna’s kitchen alike.
In 2009, Viking presented a range of professional appliances, Viking Commercial Line, after many years of thorough research, designing, and joint development. This range of unique equipment includes all the necessary things for a professional kitchen, from autonomous installations to versatile modular islands. A modular design allows a cook to make up an individual list of necessary equipment or install a full set, depending on the style or preferences in cooking. Every module of Viking Commercial Line has been developed from scratch for the most demanding chefs to represent an ultra-modern style and meet the ultra-premium quality and safety standards, providing top performance for the best chefs in the world.
Viking products have two design options — Professional (severe professional or commercial design) and Designer Series (more delicate lines with the same quality and internals). A wide range of shades from stainless steel to any rainbow color allows to fit Viking equipment to any restaurant, house, flat, office, and even yacht interior.
Cooking is not a necessity — it’s a passion, and that is why Viking’s customers are not willing to take anything but the best in the kitchen.
